The Original Scandia Wind Aegir Project:

A 100 square mile wind power plant, over twice the area of the entire City of Grand Rapids, consisting of 200 turbine towers, each as tall as a 45 story skyscraper, making it the second largest “city” in Michigan.

The proposal: The Scandia proposal is not a tiny “wind farm” dotting the horizon. It would, in fact be the largest off-shore wind power plant in the world today. The proposed plan would be 3.7 miles off shore at the Ludington hydroelectric plant, less than 3 miles off shore at Mears State Park, to just 1.4 miles off shore at Silver Lake State Park. The grid stretches over 18 miles along the shoreline, and nearly 6 miles wide.
