Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition Invites Area Residents to Discuss Concerns about Near-shore Wind Power Plants at Monday Town-Hall Meeting
Pentwater, MI. April 21, 20010—The Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition invites area residents to discuss concerns about irresponsible wind energy development in Lake Michigan at a Town-Hall meeting at 4 p.m. Monday, April 26.
The meeting will be held at the Ludington Arts Council Center for the Arts. Following a brief presentation on facts about the current proposal and alternatives to near-shore wind power plant development, the evening will be open to conversation moderated by Bob Neal.
“We want to provide an opportunity for everyone to learn more about the proposal to build a 50 square-mile wind power plant within miles of the Mason and Oceana county shoreline,” said Jeff Hodges, coalition board member. “There is much information to share beyond the sales presentations we heard this winter,” added Hodges.
The program will conclude by 6 p.m. The Center for the Arts is located at 107 S. Harrison Street in downtown Ludington and parking is available adjacent to the center.
The Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition is committed to protecting Lake Michigan, one of our state’s greatest natural resources. The Coalition is against any irresponsible off-shore wind power plant proposals that could negatively impact Lake Michigan’s waters, shoreline ecosystem, regional economy, and quality of life.
