August 8, 2010—The Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition invites
Grand Haven area residents to discuss concerns about wind factory development in Lake Michigan at a Town-Hall meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 11.
The meeting will be held at the Performing Arts Center at Grand Haven High School . Following a brief presentation on facts about the current proposal and alternatives to near-shore wind factory development, the program will be open to conversation moderated by Rich Peters, Grand Haven resident.
“We want to provide an opportunity for everyone to learn more about the proposal to build 50 square-mile wind power plants within miles of the Ottawa and Oceana county shorelines,” said Jeff Hodges, coalition board member. “There is much information to share beyond the sales presentations given over the past few months,” added Hodges.
The program will conclude by 8:30 p.m. Grand Haven High School is located at 17001 West Ferris Street, just west of US 31 in Grand Haven.
The Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition is committed to protecting Lake Michigan , one of our state’s greatest natural resources.
