About Us

WHO WE ARE: Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition. POWER stands for Protect Our Water, Economy, and Resources. Lake Michigan POWER Coalition is a pending non-profit organization of concerned citizens, residents and business owners, committed to protecting Lake Michigan, one of our state and nation's greatest natural resources. We oppose any industrial off-shore wind power plant proposals that could negatively impact Lake Michigan's waters, regional economy, shoreline ecosystem, and quality of life. Through education, research, and dialogue we will work with the public and elected officials to protect Lake Michigan and surrounding communities while encouraging safer, more efficient, clean energy solutions and jobs for Michigan’s future.

Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition Invites Area Residents to P.O.W.E.R. Rally Saturday, September 4

The Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition invites area residents to enjoy a complimentary entertainment and snacks from 2 – 6 p.m. this Saturday behind the Village Cafe in Pentwater.

The coalition is holding the event to thank all of its Pentwater and Ludington area volunteers and supporters for their efforts over the past few months. While the work to protect Lake Michigan from irresponsible wind factory development continues, it’s time to come together to consider all that has been accomplished in a relatively short time.

The Village Cafe is located in downtown Pentwater at 347 Hancock Street, adjacent to Provisions Sporting Goods. The Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition will also accept yard signs from seasonal residents who wish to return them for reuse.
