Your attendance at the following public meetings is critical in the effort to protect Lake Michigan from irresponsible wind factories. Here are key meetings that you should attend so that government officials know your views on offshore wind development.
August 4 Public Information Meeting Hosted by Oceana County
On Wednesday August 4, Oceana County will hold an information program including presentations by Scandia Wind Offshore and the Lake Michigan P.O.W.E.R. Coalition.
The program will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Hart Middle School, 308 W. Johnson Street, Hart.
August 5 Oceana County Planning Commission Meeting
This spring, the Oceana County Board of Commissioners charged the Oceana County Planning Commission with making a recommendation in response to the Scandia Wind Offshore proposal.
The planning commission is scheduled to present its recommendation on Thursday August 5 at its regularly scheduled meeting at 1:30 p.m in the Board Conference Room located on the main floor of the County Building, 100 State Street, Hart.
August 12 Oceana County Commission Meeting
The Oceana County Commission is expected to vote on its position on the Scandia Wind Offshore proposal at its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, August 12 at 2 p.m. in the Board Conference Room, located on the main floor of the County Building, 100 State Street, Hart.
